Code of Conduct

This policy applies to all ICSEST-2026 activities, including in-person sessions at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and online participation.

1. Respect, Diversity, and Inclusivity

ICSEST-2026 is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive conference environment for all participants. We welcome participants regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, academic discipline, professional background, or institutional affiliation. Harassment, discrimination, or exclusion of any form will not be tolerated.

2. Professional and Ethical Conduct

All participants, including authors, speakers, attendees, committee members, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff are expected to maintain professional behavior at all times. Participants must engage respectfully in discussions, acknowledge diverse viewpoints, and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with academic integrity, professional ethics, and international conference norms.

3. Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • img Harassment, intimidation, or threats
  • img Discriminatory, abusive, or derogatory language or actions
  • img Unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact
  • img Disruption of sessions or conference activities
  • img Misuse of conference platforms, materials, or credentials

These rules apply equally to in-person, online, and hybrid conference activities, including social events and networking sessions.

4. Reporting Incidents

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to report it promptly. Reports may be made confidentially to the ICSEST-2026 Secretariat. All reports will be handled seriously, discreetly, and with respect for privacy.

5. Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Code of Conduct will not be tolerated. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

  • img Verbal or written warnings
  • img Removal from sessions or events
  • img Revocation of conference access, credentials, or certificates
  • img Removal from the conference without refund
  • img Exclusion from future ICSEST or REPA-affiliated events

Decisions of the Organizing Committee are final.

6. Addressing Grievances

Participants who believe they have been unfairly or incorrectly accused of violating this Code of Conduct may submit a written grievance to the ICSEST-2026 Secretariat. All grievances will be reviewed carefully and fairly, with due consideration given to all available information.

7. Scope of Application

This Code of Conduct applies to all ICSEST-2026 activities, including:

  • img Conference sessions and workshops
  • img Poster and exhibition areas
  • img Online and virtual platforms
  • img Social and networking events
  • img All official conference communications

All participants are expected to comply with this Code throughout the duration of the conference.

9. Revisions and Updates
